Declarations

Last week Papa God had to remind me of these truths. My words, my declarations, were negative toward a person that I am very close to, about a subject that we have different views.

“We will never agree on this, and it will be an area that we will always struggle in.”

Usually, when we discuss this particular subject, it will blow up to be ugly [ugly words and ugly emotions]. With that said, I have gotten in the habit of just letting things go. I figure if I don’t engage in the conversation it will just quietly go away [until the next time around]. But even though I am not engaging with my loved one about this area. I was engaged and in agreement with a dark spirit that likes to lie and divide. You got it, the enemy.

In the mist of my verbizing my thoughts to the dogs about this repeated issue, the Lord dropped this in my heart;
‘Georgia, your words have power. Who are you in agreement with?’

Wow, Papa God’s words instantly stopped me mid-sentence in my complaining. Oh, my goodness! Why didn’t I see this? I usually can pick up on the atmosphere that influences my mood. Seeing heated differences for what they are – the enemy creating dissension, stirring the pot up [so to speak]. But not at this time.

Why? I asked myself. Then I realized it is because I am too close to the situation. What I mean is, this situation was in ‘my’ face, and personal.

Once I realized my own words went against the unity of our relationship, I repented. Father God forgive me, I have been eating the fruit of my own words. I asked Papa God to search my heart in this area and to reveal to me any lies that I believe.

I then looked scripture that would agree with Father God and what HE wants us to have in this situation. WISDOM!

My declarations changed:
Your counsel and correction make us praise you Father God for your whispers in the night give us wisdom showing us what to do next. – Psalm 16:7
I know that you delight to set your truth deep in our hearts so come into the hidden places of our hearts and teach us wisdom. – Psalm 51:6

I then asked Father God to defend each of us in this situation, helping us to see each side of the argument. I will have you know for the first time that I can think of, it was resolved by the end of the day. God is so good!

SO! I end by saying if there is a difficult situation going on in your life, do a little evaluating. Are the words you are declaring brining unity or division? Are you in agreement with the one who brings peace or the one who creates discord? And last, ask Father God to give you wisdom.

“You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and the light will shine on your ways.” – Job 22:28
“I also tell you this – if two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask for, my Father in heaven will do it for you.” – Matthew 18:19
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you that today I have set before you life or death, blessing or curses. Now choose life…” – Deuteronomy 30:19
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” – Proverbs 18:21
If you know me, you will know that I have often said; “Watch your words, they have power. Whatever your intent on the release of these words, will not return empty” – Isaiah 55:11
