Fragrance
This morning I could smell, I mean it was like really highlighted in my senses. I don’t have any issues smelling, but when I went downstairs to put the laundry in the dryer, I could smell the fabric softener before I even got to the laundry room. Then when I went into our closet, I could smell us (Bob & I). It wasn’t an offensive smell, but it was a comforting aroma- like being home. Finally, I settled down to do my journaling and sitting at the kitchen table the Fragrance of these carnations pulled my attention to look at them closely.
Obviously with my sense of smell highlighted I thought I would do a search on the word “smell” in my scriptures. Which lead me to read: Romans 3:13 and 2 Corinthians 2:15-17
2 Corinthians – TPT
We have become the unmistakable aroma of the victory of the Anointed One to God a perfume of life to those being saved and the odor of death to those who are perishing. The unbelievers smell a deadly stench that leads to death, but believers smell the life-giving aroma that leads to abundant life. And who of us can rise to this challenge? For unlike so many, we are not peddlers of God’s Word who water down the message. We are those sent from God with pure motives, who speak in the sight of God from our union with Christ.
Romans – TPT
Their words release a stench, like the smell of death—foul and filthy! Deceitful lies roll off their tongues. The venom of a viper drips from their lips.
As I focused on these two scriptures, I paused to examine if my own words released death or life…in most cases I would say life. However, there are some words I speak that cast death and judgement.
Forgive me, Father God. Help me see and “smell” the words I utter. Help them line up with the words YOU speak, and let my life be a perfume of victory [life & hope] to all those whom I cross paths. I thank you for lavishing me with love, mercy and grace. In Jesus name – amen.
Just a little look of how I process things with Papa God. Have a blessed day. ?
