Paying attention to my emotions
In my quite time the Lord showed me something about the way that I maneuver in situations that creates fear, intimidation, bitterness, and yes…sometimes even hate, deep within me. Whenever I have been approached with negative issues that face this world today (verbally spoken to me, reading something online, watching the news etc.) I usually turn my face to look up to the Lord and say a simple prayer “Your will be done Lord God, what you see in heaven in this situation, let it be here on earth.” which is biblical. But in a way, I feel as if I am sweeping it under the rug [so to speak].
Colossians 3:1-2 (MSG) So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.
Matthew 6:9-13 (NIV) “Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name, your Kingdome come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
I have done this many times, and I believed I was keeping my emotions in check by keeping my inner peace. This is all good, however the Lord showed me how the enemy has kept me from being effective the way HE has called me to “Such a time as this.” When these emotions rise up within us we need not run and hide form them. Instead we need to be running to our PAPA in heaven we need to be covering these issues with the Blood of Jesus. Asking GOD to show us HIS perspective, not our own.
Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV) “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Yes, maybe I have hidden my head in the sand a bit over the years but I must believe that too has been a part of God’s plan. HE has taught me that I can truly trust HIM and to keep my eyes on what HE is doing. Knowing the Kingdom authority I carry (because of JESUS) and knowing who I am. I am a heaven being, not merely a human being.
I was talking to my husband this week and told him that the enemy has had it easy. It hasn’t been a fight for the evil one because we have allowed him to take dominion. I believe that NOW the glory of God is being revealed in many areas around the world. CHIRSTians are understanding their mandate to take dominion, and all of the principalities of darkness (Ephesians 6:12) is falling apart. PRAISE GOD!
I write all this in hopes that we can stop falling into the trap of the enemy. We either fight among ourselves or we put our heads in the sand. We need to get our faces in The BOOK (not facebook) and to ask HOLY SPIRIT for HIS perspective, then PRAY!
My hope that more people would understand that we will be accountable for every word we say, every thought we have, and every opportunity we missed to bring Glory to GOD into situations.
*note; I type CHRISTinas because we must remember; to identify as a “Christian” we are declaring that Jesus is the Son of God, HE left his place in heaven and became man to be the ultimate sin sacrifice for us. And that we follow the example of CHRIST, HE is the center of our lives. We never read about Jesus debating with anyone, or debate with an evil spirit. Jesus did (and said) what HIS FATHER in Heaven did/said. I say it again, we desperately need His (God’s) perspective.
John 3:16 (NIV)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
