The divine adventure.

This is a season to put faith in God’s words and/or the promises we personalize in scripture.

In other words, we need to get into the game! Cheering the team on the sidelines is easy, but lining up to kick a field goal is entirely different and intimidating.

Jesus has called us to live a life of unimaginable adventure. It’s a journey that requires courage and begins the moment we choose to follow Him.

John 10:9

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.

They will come in and go out and find pasture (adventure).

Though we need to understand things don’t instantly change, we aren’t instantly transported into another life. But we are living in an entirely different dimension, a spiritual realm where God’s promises and provisions are our reality. We are citizens of Heaven; here on earth (Eph 2:19), we no longer need to fear the accuser that kills, steals, and destroys. We can trust that He is the Jehovah Jireh: provider (Gen 22:14).

However, our mindset has been so programmed to work for food.

John 6:27,35 AMPC

Stop toiling and doing and producing for the food that perishes and decomposes [in the using], but strive and work and produce rather for the [lasting] food which endures [continually] unto life eternal; the Son of Man will give (furnish) you that, for God the Father has authorized and certified Him and put His seal of endorsement upon Him. Jesus replied, I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry, and he who believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me will never thirst anymore (at any time).

What would it look like if we fully trusted what we read and had that “childlike” faith that provision would be provided?! I am not talking about being reckless and just quitting our jobs, thinking we will step into that adventure that is screaming inside us, too.

We need to ask the Lord what step to take. In our obedience to the small things, HE will open bigger opportunities. Just keep taking that one step he has instructed you to do.

Have you ever ridden a roller coaster? The rider gets secured into a bobsled-type car, and it starts to click slowly up that first hill. This slow ascent represents our journey of faith, where each step we take brings us closer to the ‘wild ride’ of God’s marvelous adventure.

God is inviting us to a divine exploration. He calls us to be spiritual pioneers, explorers, and even warriors. We might even be an answer to someone else’s prayer. Ultimately, Jesus inside us is the answer, but we are the hands and feet of HIM.

You never know. Your adventure may even unlock the cage of someone on the sidelines watching you.
