Listen to the sound

As I went for my “wog” (walk/jog) this morning to get my steps, I listened to the different sounds that floated through the air. You could hear the local factories and the forklifts beeping to let people know they were coming through. I also heard the children playing on the playground at a nearby elementary school, one of whom was singing a lovely song.  I couldn’t determine which little girl was singing, but the children on the playground couldn’t have been more than 8 years old. It was a voice that carried purity and innocence, a reminder of how precious children are.

Then, I heard the wind blowing through the rustling of the beautiful green leaves, which created a canopy over me. Then I could hear a faint sound, a gentle woo of a morning dove.

It reminded me of how the Holy Spirit woos over us, and we need to be sensitive to hear. When we discern the different noises around us and listen to Holy Spirit, He will equip us with things that will help us through our day.

Nothing specific, per se, but knowing and believing that when we come into any situation, whether it’s favorable to release the word of God—the gospel to someone or to defuse a contentious atmosphere.

We need trust in the belief that we hear from Holy Spirit and that the light we carry illuminates the world around us.

Our pastor is doing a summer series on the first book of Corinthians. As he stated, it’s a smudge podge (my wording) of different understandings of the gospel teaching. Each group mixed their old culture with the teaching of Jesus, comparing one against the other. That shouldn’t be.

We aren’t much different today if you think about it. We shouldn’t be mixing how our culture believes with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We need to seek understanding of the gospel not filtered from our humanistic understanding but asking Holy Spirit to open up our hearts to understand.

The gospel of Jesus Christ should unify us.

I pray today that we each feel HIS presence and that we are unified with the Trinity. Walking with a sense of humility, it is not our wisdom but the wisdom of God working within and through us. Have a blessed day.

Galatians 5:22-24 TPT

But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of Spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless. Keep in mind that we who belong to Jesus Christ have already experienced crucifixion. For everything connected with our self-life was put to death on the cross and crucified with Messiah. If the Spirit is the source of our life, we must also allow the Spirit to direct every aspect of our lives. So, may we never be arrogant or look down on one another, for each of us is an original. We must forsake all jealousy that diminishes the value of others.
